Authors must declare that there are no personal, academic, institutional, or financial conflicts of interest that could influence the results, discussion, or conclusions presented in their manuscript. Likewise, the journal will require editors and reviewers to disclose any circumstances that could compromise the impartiality of the editorial process. Peer review will be conducted under a double-blind model, ensuring the confidentiality of both authors and reviewers. These practices are consistent with the principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authors must provide a written declaration stating that the manuscript is original and unpublished, constitutes their own intellectual contribution, and has the approval of all co-authors for publication. Authors also agree not to submit the work simultaneously to another journal while it is under editorial consideration by Educiencia.
Educiencia does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, or any other practice that violates scientific integrity. All manuscripts will be screened using similarity detection tools. When conduct that violates publication ethics is identified, the manuscript will be rejected or, where appropriate, the corresponding editorial measures will be applied in accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
The journal adheres to international ethical principles for research and scientific publishing, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Council of the European Community, the Declaration of Helsinki, and the guidelines of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), when applicable.
Authors may submit an appeal when they believe that an editorial decision was based on a procedural error or on an evaluation that did not comply with the criteria established by the journal.
The appeal must be submitted in writing to the Editorial Committee within 15 calendar days of notification of the editorial decision, clearly and thoroughly explaining the reasons for the request.
Upon receipt, the Editorial Committee will review the documentation provided and, when deemed necessary, may request the opinion of an editor or reviewer who was not involved in the original process.
Based on the information gathered, the Editorial Committee may:
The decision will be communicated in writing to the authors and will be considered final.
This procedure is based on COPE’s Complaints and Appeals recommendations.
When authors, readers, or members of the editorial team identify errors in a published article that do not affect the scientific validity of the results or conclusions, they may request a correction from the Editorial Committee.
The request must clearly describe the identified error and propose the correct information. The Editorial Committee will evaluate the request and determine whether the publication of a correction, erratum, or editorial clarification is warranted.
If approved, the correction will be published on the journal’s website and linked to the original article to ensure transparency and the integrity of the academic record.
This procedure is based on the recommendations of the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
The journal may initiate a retraction process when there is evidence or suspicion of plagiarism, redundant publication, data fabrication or falsification, image manipulation, inappropriate authorship, or any other practice that compromises the scientific integrity of a publication.
Before making a decision, the Editorial Committee will notify the authors and provide them with an opportunity to submit any explanations or evidence they consider relevant.
Once the review has been completed, the Editorial Committee will determine whether to maintain the publication, issue a correction, or retract the article. In the event of a retraction, an explanatory notice stating the reasons for the decision will be published, and the article record will remain available as part of the scholarly record.
This procedure follows the guidelines established in the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
Authors, reviewers, readers, or any individual involved in the editorial process may submit complaints related to editorial management, conflicts of interest, breaches of good practices, or the conduct of authors, reviewers, or members of the editorial team.
Complaints must be submitted in writing to the Editorial Committee, describing the facts and providing any available information or documentation for review.
The Editorial Committee will evaluate each case confidentially, impartially, and in a timely manner. When necessary, it may request additional information from the parties involved before issuing a decision.
The decision and any corrective actions taken will be communicated to the individuals involved, ensuring respect for due process and the principles of academic integrity.
This procedure is based on COPE’s Complaints and Appeals recommendations.
