Metadata Management Policy

The Educiencia journal establishes a metadata management policy to ensure the proper description, identification, interoperability, and retrieval of published content in digital environments and academic indexing systems.

The metadata for each article are generated and managed through the journal’s editorial system, ensuring their registration, updating, and verification before publication.

The journal guarantees the inclusion of the minimum required metadata for each article, including:

  • Article title in the original language and, when applicable, in English
  • Author name(s)
  • Authors' institutional affiliations
  • Authors' ORCID identifiers
  • Abstract in the original language and, when applicable, in English
  • Keywords in the original language and, when applicable, in English
  • Bibliographic references
  • Persistent identifier (DOI)
  • Publication information (volume, issue, dates, and pages)

The editorial team is responsible for reviewing and validating the metadata before the publication of each article, verifying its consistency, standardization, and compliance with the journal's editorial standards.

Likewise, the journal ensures that metadata can be exported and are interoperable with indexing systems, institutional repositories, academic databases, and information harvesting protocols such as OAI-PMH.

Any updates or corrections to metadata after publication will only be made when necessary to correct errors or improve the accuracy of the information, while always maintaining traceability of the changes made.

This policy contributes to the visibility, preservation, and proper citation of works published in the Educiencia journal.
