Tutoring program in higher education. A strategy to face the challenges and demands of Accounting, Administration and IT careers

One of the challenges of higher education is to reduce dropout, educational lag, and low terminal efficiency rates. Tutoring emerges as a strategic response to such challenges, when used as a compliment in the comprehensive formation of students, facilitating their insertion in the academic and work environment. There is an area of opportunity to promote a formative action and integration academic activities through tutoring. In this study, the nature of the functions of the tutor in the teaching practice is analyzed to improve the academic performance. The objective of the research is to define strategies for the efficient integration of academic tutoring. The case study includes students enrolled in the accounting, administration and IT careers in the School of Commerce and Administration Victoria, in the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas.
